Funimation Confirms Over 440 Theaters will Screen Shin Godzilla
SHIN GODZILLA, aka GODZILLA RESURGENCE, has been receiving some solid buzz thanks to its slate of, frankly, awesome-looking trailers.

The kaiju film, formerly called Godzilla Resurgence (the name was changed at Toho’s request), hits 440 North American theaters on October 11 and will stay through October 18.
The latest creature feature in Japan’s Toho Company canon is scheduled to screen in more than 440 theaters in the United States and Canada.
Shin Godzilla – which is a fun play on words that can be translated as either “Real” Godzilla or “New” Godzilla – will be playing on U.S. cinema screens ONLY from October 11 – 18, so those wanting the full sensory experience should start scouring local listings now for their nearest screening. Co-directed by Hideaki Anno (creator of Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (director of Toho’s 2015 Attack on Titan live-action movies), Shin Godzilla is the 29th Godzilla film produced by Toho.
In Shin Godzilla (Godzilla Resurgence), an unknown accident occurs in Tokyo Bay’s Aqua Line, which causes an emergency cabinet to assemble.
The film opened in July in Japan and has made $51.6 million (¥ 5.3 billion) on the back of positive reviews and good word of mouth. Funimation will also host two premiere events for the film on October 3 (Los Angeles) and October 5 (New York) right before the start of New York Comic Con.
