Over two weeks, students will get to learn how to use traditional and social media to communicate their strengths and how to overcome the obstacles they will no doubt face as business leaders. Later, students will present their personal brands through three platforms: YouTube, Facebook Live, and local television. Her class will tackle personal branding.
The site, which covers business schools, said the appointment came after Banks participated in a discussion previous year as part of a Stanford Women in Business leadership series.
Having Tyra Banks as a guest lecturer for a class at Stanford came about after the professor for the class heard her speak at a recent event at the university.
Banks insists she won’t be too tough on her students, but admits to the publication, “If I see somebody not paying attention, I’m gonna call on them”.
But don’t expect her to be her normal relaxed self in class. Tyra says she’s going to take this job very seriously. Actress Angelina Jolie, who serves as special envoy to the United Nations, will co-teach a masters course on women, gender and security at the London School of Economics with former foreign secretary William Hague. The “America’s Next Top Model” creator will begin teaching at Stanford University next spring.
