He has pledged to spend over £30billion on the south-east if elected as Prime Minister, through a number of initiatives, and was cheered by the majority of the assembled crowd.

Ruth Smeeth, MP for North Stoke-on-Trent, said that counter terrorism police have launched an investigation into at a least one of the messages – a death threat calling for her to be hanged from the gallows.

“And to ensure that no-one and no community is left behind”.

Earlier in the week, a YouGov survey for The Times showed Mr Corbyn with a 24 point lead over Owen Smith in the party’s leadership contest.

The document, obtained by the Daily Telegraph, also detailed expulsions resulting from racist and sexist comments, including one person who accused Jews of “owning the media” and used the word “Zio”, which was outlawed by Labour after being judged anti-Semitic in a report by Shami Chakrabarti.

She claimed that much of it was being done in the name of Jeremy Corbyn, even though she says he would condemn it.

‘And as leader of the Labour Party, addressing it means stating clearly, publicly, that we have got zero tolerance for it, that your party has zero tolerance for it, and you will make sure you stamp it out.

He said: “I like him”.

Ms Smeeth told The Sun: “What concerns me most is the impact it has on my staff, who see it before me”.

The Labour MP for Pontypridd said: “I think Jeremy’s response to the charge that people have been abused – women in the Labour Party, Angela [Eagle] for her sexuality – has been quite often to say, ‘well I’ve been abused too. and often the best thing to do is ignore it”.

“I think we get paid enough for doing our jobs and I don’t think we need to get paid extra money for doing jounalism”.

“That investigation is ongoing”, said a spokesman.

“Threatening behaviour will not be tolerated within the party and we urge anyone receiving any abuse to contact the party and, where relevant, the police”.

“This needs to be roundly and swiftly condemned by both the leadership candidates and the Party needs to act to drain the cesspit of anti-Semitism that has become so apparent in recent months”.

“Labour’s disciplinary process needs to be strengthened, not undermined”.
