Agent confirms approach for Miguel Almiron

And it appears Wenger is eyeing a shock move for Almiron as the Daily Star are citing reports coming out of Italy from Tuttomercatoweb that claim Arsenal have made an opening £9.4m offer for the Paraguayan worldwide.

Arsenal will not be signing Miguel Almiron this summer, but his agent confirms an approach.

According to the Italian website, the Argentine club want €13million for the 22-year-old but the Gunners want to finalise the deal for €11million.

The 22-year-old, who was given his worldwide debut at this summer’s Copa America, signed for Argentine champions Lanús in 2015, making the move after coming through the youth ranks at Cerro Porteño.

‘Actually there was an approach, but it didn’t go any further, ‘ he told Sport Witness.

The north London club already have a wealth of attacking talent in their midfield in the form of Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but Wenger could be tempted to add another attacking threat to aid the Gunners’ challenge for the Premier League title.
