Kenseth wins pole for Sunday’s race

What everyone is waiting to see is how the cars will handle in traffic.

“I’m sure that will be different when there will be a lot of cars around, but the draft is not really that effective”. Busch was sixth in qualifying Friday, but going to the backup vehicle will force him to start from the back in Sunday’s race.

Kyle Busch overcame a speeding penalty to lead a total of 44 laps in the 100-lap Careers for Veterans 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Michigan global Speedway in Brooklyn on Saturday to claim his second Truck Series win of the season in only his second series start of the season.

But a low-downforce package put in place at Kentucky was more popular, and it will be used again at Darlington next month.

So how does it look for who is going to be the victor this weekend?

“I think we’re very close to being where we want to be”, he said. “There is a lot of disturbed air because of the devices they have on these cars”. “I don’t know how greedy, but that was the position we were in”. Because Busch missed the first 11 races this season with a broken foot and leg, he must still finish at least 30th in the driver standings to reach NASCAR’s version the playoffs. I enjoy the challenges of this track … the shifting, the three unique turns and how you have set up the person you’re racing each and every corner.

“To me, it will be just like Indy”, Kasey Kahne said. The bigger hole is supposed to leave more clean air behind the cars, so drivers attempting to pass are not suddenly slowed down. The top-10 cars were a mix of those good and bad in qualifying. He is going to be super-fast and then the straightaways you will be able to suck up a little.

NASCAR is sticking with its original 2015 rules package for the Chase for the Sprint Cup. NASCAR will evaluate its options for 2016 after it gathers data from Darlington.

“Our cars have been really fast in all three configurations”, Kenseth said. “That’s how I feel about [any changes]”. Michigan is multiple lanes, allowing drivers better opportunities to get side-by-side; a contrast to Indianapolis and its narrow lone groove in the turns.

“I don’t think that was what the sport was built on….”

Wondering who might win?

Keselowski probably won’t get his wish Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr.is looking capture both races at Pocono.

When Jimmie Johnson began conserving fuel, Kenseth moved up to fourth and laid in wait for his competition to pit. Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Greg Biffle rounded out the top-five. “But it just kept sliding out and there was nothing I could do to control it”.

Challenging as the high-drag package may be, all 43 competitors across the board are facing the same conditions. They can use wind tunnels as well as computer simulation programs.
