Clinton Accuses Putin Of Endorsing ‘Foreign Interference’ In US Election

The Russian government has been accused of trying to interfere in the upcoming US elections, and a letter from Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid seen by the New York Times asks the FBI to investigate possible links to Donald Trump’s campaign.

Lehrich said the campaign still believes it was Russian Federation which hacked the Democratic National Committee’s e-mail in an embarassing episode just before the party’s nominating convention in July. “They both are smart people and know which points to press to be heard and understood by United States voters”, Putin added, further saying that in his opinion neither candidate set a good example of campaigning in that regard.

Putin was critical of both Clinton and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who Russian Federation has been accused of favoring, however.

The U.S. election contest has been hard fought and frequently dominated by both candidates’ attitudes toward Russian Federation. Putin asked, in an interview reported by Bloomberg News.

Putin argued that the hacks were a positive development, however.

Russian President Vladimir Putin urged countries on Saturday to show caution when dealing with North Korea and to avoid any actions that might further enflame tensions with Pyongyang. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing, so we’ll have to wait and see what, if anything, is made public about the identities of those who hacked the DNC.

We know, of course, that Russian Federation most probably did do the DNC hack according to analysis done by cybersecurity company CrowdStrike.

Earlier, U.S. President Barack Obama had said that he would discuss the hacking with Putin. Some officials have suggested Moscow is trying to influence the USA election.

“Today it is obvious that we can’t let the chances that we have slide by”, he said, adding, “Each of us looks at this problem through the prism of their national interests but we all agree on one thing – we need to solve the problem”. “But I want to tell you again, I don’t know anything about it, and on a state level Russian Federation has never done this”.

On Thursday, Putin demurred at the suggestion that he might favor Mr. Trump over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whom he has accused of fomenting demonstrations against his rule in 2011.

Responding to allegations that Kremlin is favouring the Republican nominee, Mr Putin said, “We never intervene, do not intervene, try not to intervene in domestic political processes”. “I’m not sure that even our Foreign Ministry experts are sensitive enough”.
