Universal subsidiary label Capitol had previously hoped to do a solo deal with Harry Styles, who made a decision to star with Sony.

You would have expected Mr Horan to have signed with Simon Cowell’s Syco however he has in fact signed a “mega solo album deal” with rival Universal Music. Simon has offered Niall big money offers, according to the British magazine, but Universal ultimately made him a pricier offer that he couldn’t refuse.

“This will come as a real blow to Cowell who has been talking to Niall for months, wanting him to sign a deal with his label Syco”, a source told Daily Star Sunday.

Normally, the fearsome Simon Cowell, 56, is the one handing out disses left and right, but now, it appears that Niall Horan, 22, has turned the tables on the man who STARTED his pop career!

“They heard his solo music and they all think it’s got good potential. But Niall’s thrilled. He’s been telling pals he is really excited about his new music and this solo deal”, a source said.

Cowell told People in July: “Niall is the most loyal”.

‘There was a worry at first that because he came from a manufactured band, he wouldn’t be taken seriously.

“But people are lining up to record with him”.

Well, the news has finally broken that he has signed his very own solo record deal! After all, in addition to the above-mentioned solo recording deals, Harry looks set to make acting a big part of his career going forward.

One Direction are now on an indefinite hiatus and Niall’s bandmates are all hard at work on solo projects.
