Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu felicitated Sindhu, Gopichand and announced gifting of a 15-acre site in the proposed Sports City in the state’s new capital region Amaravati for setting up a badminton academy. Why are they interfering when we are honoring her?

Mahmood Ali also said that the Telangana government would find a better coach than Gopichand if needed.

School children held banners hailing the badminton star, who caught the imagination of the country with her superb run at Rio, and raised slogans “P V Sindhu Pride of India”, and some of them also showered flower petals on the motorcade. Like Sania Mirza, who brought laurels by winning several tournaments after encouragement by the government, we hope Sindhu will also bring many laurels by winning many more tournaments in the future.

The nation came together to celebrate PV Sindhu’s remarkable win at the Rio Olympics 2016.

Sindhu and her long-time coach Gopichand are still yet to cope with the numerous congratulatory messages and felicitations.

“The country today feels proud of you”, he told Sindhu and added that sheer dedication and commitment helped her reach this position.

However, the 21-year-old shuttler has made her stand clear by saying that Gopichand is still the best coach for her. It saddens me to see that some people need to know her caste to accept her achievements and brilliance.

This is not the first time Tendulkar is presenting a auto to an Indian Olympic medal victor. Rs. 5 lakh each were awarded to both Sindhu and Sakshi by the All India Football Federation.

Another Olympian from the state Rajini will also get Rs 25 lakh and a Group-2 job in the government.
