Raddatz and Cooper will team up to cover the town hall-style debate on October 9 at Washington University in St. Louis.
In early October CBS News anchor Elaine Quijano moderates the Vice Presidential debate.
The Hillary Clinton camp has been talking to Tony Schwartz, the writer of Donald Trump’s book The Art of the Deal, in an effort to discover Trump’s weaknesses and “insecurities”.

The rules say candidates will get two minutes to answer, but that moderators could use one more minute to further the conversation. “The job involves doing many things, which is why this is so hard”, former CNN Washington bureau chief Frank Sesno said on “Smerconish” last week. So there’s a great deal of pressure and a great deal of sort of real-time thinking that goes into this job.
You can’t please everybody, especially when it comes to the presidential debate commission’s widely-praised selection of moderators for this fall’s televised general election debates. “Very few can, really”. Instead, they chose to schedule at the same time, which will surely impact the audience for the debates.
Hofstra’s 2012 presidential debate was a more relaxed town hall debate that gave us Mitt Romney’s famous “binders full of women” comment and saw a more energized Barack Obama after an uninspiring appearance during the competitors’ first clash.

They added, “The formats chosen for this year’s debates are created to build on the formats introduced in 2012, which focused big blocks of time on major domestic and foreign topics”.
