It was reported that early Sunday morning, an officer in Chicago was shot while in his auto and earlier in the day, in a separate incident, another officer was robbed off his gun and badge. At about 5 a.m. Sunday, an officer sustained a graze wound on the upper arm.

Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson spoke about the shooting Sunday night. Police said the officer slowed to let the minivan pass when the someone opened fire on him, striking his front windshield several times.
Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the officer was shot at from a vehicle Sunday around 5 a.m.
Tonight, members of the Chicago Police Department are investigating whether or not their officers are being targeted after two incidents with off-duty police officers occurred today. The officer fired back and the offender fled the scene. That’s it. Pop, pop, pop, pop, shots firing. “I realized he had a radio and he was a police officer and he’s the victim”.
The officer was treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and released, according to a Chicago Police statement. The wallet had the officers badge inside, but it was found on the ground nearby.
The officer was with a companion when the robbery took place about 9:25 p.m.in the 3100 block of North Ravenswood.

The suspects then got into a dark-colored SUV and drove west on Belmont Avenue. No one is in custody in either case.
