Son of Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi ‘doesn’t like football’

He went on to score over 500 goals in the youth ranks before ultimately moving on to Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy aged just 10.

Messi announced his sudden retirement from worldwide football when Argentina suffered defeat in the Copa America final, the third time that the country has lost a final in the space of three years, despite being just 29 years old. After taking a few weeks to wallow (he even retired for a short stint), the Barcelona striker reemerged on the scene stronger – and blonder – than ever. “I had to start again from scratch”.

Speaking to Argentine paper Ole, Messi revealed that his groin is “messed up” and could get worse if he returns to the pitch too early.

Messi’s means to finding himself may have led to a fashion trend.

Lionel Messi’s triumphant Argentina comeback has been tempered by a groin injury that has forced his withdrawal from Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier in Venezuela.

When asked if a return to Newell’s was something which interested Messi, the four-time Champions League victor replied, “I would love to”.

Having spent all of his professional career at Barca, Messi has become one of the greatest footballers of all time and has helped the La Liga giants win four Champions Leagues. “I’m not the type to buy him footballs or force him. We are focused on Monday’s game, which is very important, and when we get back to Barcelona we will see how we are”.

“I didn’t deceive anyone in that moment”, he said.
