The accompanying music video made the song’s message crystal clear as Beyonce lies atop a sinking police auto while embracing her African-American heritage in New Orleans.

Mariah Carey also took to social media to wish “the lovely Queen Bey” well on her big day.

“Happy Birthday to the lovely Queen Bey!”.

“A 10 year difference”, they wrote alongside two snaps. “Lots of love and respect always, Mariah”, along with a crown, bee, lemon and heart emojis.

Finally, Beyonce’s mother Tina Lawson posted a sweet birthday wish to her superstar daughter on her Instagram page.
