A relaxed and smiling Clinton, who was bound for a Labor Day celebration in Cleveland, Ohio, said she was “more than ready” for the next stage of the campaign.
“I will come back and talk to you more formally but I wanted to welcome you onto the plane”, Clinton said. “I’ve been just waiting for this moment”. Also aboard are campaign staff and Secret Service officers.
“Hey, guys, welcome to our big plane”, Clinton told about three dozen members of the news media occupying the plane’s final seven rows. The Democratic nominee plans to arrive in the city for a Labor Day festival with union leaders and workers. Tim Kaine of Virginia, is also on the trail, as are their spouses, Vice President Biden and Sen.
The Democrat was set to attend events on Monday with working families in Cleveland and Hampton, Illinois celebrating Labor Day, the U.S. holiday that traditionally kicks off the fast-paced fall campaign season leading up to the November presidential election.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has officially launched her personal private jet dubbed “Hill Force One”.
It has been several months since Clinton last held a full-fledged news conference, a dynamic that has been in the news lately and has served as a talking point for Republican critics.
