And to that end the San Diego Chargers fans really helped the San Francisco 49ers quarterback get a feel for what his season is going to sound like on Thursday night.

The 49ers, according to the report, said Friday they continue to stand behind the statement they first made when Kaepernick’s protest was first publicized.

Former Northwestern State star Jeremy Lane and former LSU star Eric Reid have joined Colin Kaepernick’s protest.

“Kaepernick’s choice not to stand during the national anthem could create a public backlash that might cost him millions in future endorsements and affect his value as a player on his team, reducing salary earnings or even jeopardizing his job”, Abdul-Jabbar wrote.

Most recently, Kaepernick kneeled instead of sitting at Thursday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

But his actions led more controversy Thursday when the executive director for one of the largest police organizations in the country blasted Kaepernick’s decision to wear socks bearing the image of cartoon pigs wearing police hats as disrespectful and ignorant. “The media has painted this as I’m anti-American, anti- men and women of the military”. NFL Hall of Famer Jim Brown said he is with Kapernick “100 percent”, while many members of the Armed Services showed their support on Twitter with the #VeteransForKaepernick hashtag. I love people. That’s why I’m doing this.

Abdisahman Bool of San Diego squeezed his way to the front of the pack, close enough to tell Kaepernick, “You’re the voice for all of us”.

After the preseason finale, Kaepernick announced he plans to donate the first million he earns this year to charities that help communities in need.

“I think what I did was taken out of context and spun a different way”. Over the past two years, the killings of a series of African-Americans in cities across the country has triggered protests and given rise to the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I’m not anti-America [.] I love America”.

“Very interesting issues that we’re dealing with right now”, Carroll said. “Police brutality is a huge thing that needs to be addressed”, he added.

Reid told reporters after the game that Boyer agreed in their talk that the shift in position was more respectful to the military. “Our team has been working at it and we’ve been in the process of communicating about a lot of stuff right now”.
