Summer Is Short But Pumpkin Spice Is Forever
The change comes after blogger Vani Hari, known as the Food Babe, criticized Starbucks for its lack of transparency around the drink’s ingredients. The staple coffee drink will still be full of sugar and caffeine, but it’ll also contain real, actual, pumpkin.

The PSL- which generated buzz when it was released early last year- will now be made with real pumpkin and no caramel coloring, Peter Dukes of Starbucks wrote in a blog post Monday.
As we move in the coming weeks from “summer” to “late summer”, an orange-and-brown colored light can be seen at the end of the tunnel: autumn – or, as some prefer to call it, Pumpkin Spice Latte Season.
The first hint of fall is in the air as Starbucks gets ready to bring back the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
According to an article on BuzzFeed News, Starbucks has sold more than 200 million Pumpkin Spice Lattes, commonly referred to as PSLs, since the drink launched in 2003.

The coffee chain said Monday that it is giving its fall seasonal drink a makeover this year with a new recipe that does away with the caramel coloring and adds a dose of pumpkin puree.
