Conor McGregor plotted his UFC 202 post fight speech for months

“Surprise, surprise motherfuc**ker the King is back”, McGregor said. He still feels that way now. I don’t know. We’ll see.

“It was a very different fight than the previous one because the previous fight, Conor was going forward a lot and Nate was retreating. I just think anyone he fights at that weight class, it’s nearly like cheating with the amount of power he has”, Kavanagh said Monday on The MMA Hour.

The Notorious’ coach John Kavanagh revealed the 28-year-old could be targeting a bout at GAA headquarters after taking a crack at lightweight ruler Eddie Alavarez. He just doesn’t think there’s anything else for him to prove at 145. “So you want to get these for before, after the fight, training, It will make your life a better place”, said Diaz. “Just as I expected, he was going to slow down and I was going to speed up”.

They were supposed to battle again at welterweight at the landmark UFC 200, but that bout was canceled after McGregor announced his retirement and refused to meet with media.

For the Californian, proof that his prior victory over his opponent wasn’t a fluke based on a massive weight class differential on short notice.

Instead, White says McGregor can either defend his featherweight title against interim champ Jose Aldo or lose the belt. Freire, meanwhile, is a top challenger in the featherweight division but made an impact when he called out Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler after Chandler defeated his brother. If Frankie Edgar had beaten Aldo, McGregor’s camp would have viewed him as a worthy contender. And while White didn’t mention an Aldo-McGregor rematch specifically after UFC 202, he did confirm that McGregor-Diaz 3 won’t be happening next.

The incident occurred during the post fight press conference – with Diaz suffering a majority loss at the hands of McGregor -where the American was seen openly using a vape pen. “That does literally nothing for me”, said Schaub. I think he’s got to deal with (the) Nevada (State Athletic Commission) right now and this thing that went down.

Conor McGregor could be set for a huge Croke Park showdown, it has emerged. I’d push for that.

Diaz was forced to compromise his wide stance to protect against another kick, while reducing his reach advantage that he held over McGregor. Conor himself was supposed to challenge then champion Rafael Dos Anjos’ belt at UFC 196, but the latter pulled out due to injury.
