Saturday was one of those days as the Gunners destroyed Watford in the first half, scoring there times through Santi Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. I think he has wonderful relationship up qualities, incredible completing qualities.

Asked if Arsenal’s season was now under way, Cech replied: “In the first half certainly because we did so well”.

Having withstood that pressure, the visitors took control and more of their trademark hypnotic passing nearly carved out a second. In midfield it is important for us to sometimes stretch the defenders.

‘He is a guy who plays naturally behind the ball. Wenger was delighted with his side’s overall performance and remains confident the Gunners will have a strong squad with the addition of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez, along with the return of injured players.

“Ozil is not physically there completely”, Wenger said, “but what we want from Ozil is assists and goals and I hope he can get that this season – 10 or 15 goals, plus the chances he creates”.

When comparisons to Vardy were mentioned, Wenger said: “Yes, I like that one”. “For us, the break is not welcome”.

Watford have lost all seven of their games against Arsenal in the Premier League.

But the Italian was pleased with his side’s second-half response and praised his quartet of debutants.

Watford began to gain a foothold but struggled to worry Cech in the Arsenal goal, and only a good low stop from Gomes denied Sanchez a second after a fine one-two with Ozil.

Fans were left praying it wasn’t anything serious as another long-term injury is the last thing we need right now and thankfully Wenger has eased those fears after confirming Monreal should be back in no time.

“So we are happy now, it’s confidence for the team”.
