City could move for Pedro
United’s decision to go for Pedro clearly stems from them losing Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer.

United are keen to rubber-stamp Pedro’s proposed £20million move from Barcelona before they sanction Januzaj’s departure.
Manchester City have agreed to pay Barcelona €30million plus variables for Manchester United transfer target Pedro.
Pedro was the hero for the Catalans in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday night, grabbing an extra time victor in a thrilling 5-4 victory over Sevilla. It is not a money question, but a continuity question.
“It’s quite clear Manchester United and Pedro have been speaking for a while”, he told Sky Sports News headquarters. I am ambitious and I want to play as much as possible. Stay or go, I will always be of this team.
However, Manchester City have reportedly muscled in on the move, with United’s faffing allowing City’s sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, to call in a few favours at his old club.
With Brazil striker Neymar being struck down with mumps over the weekend, it had been thought Pedro would line up alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez up front in Barca’s starting line-up on Tuesday. “He has exactly the style of play and he is proven in the Premier League”.
“I’m looking forward to the end of the transfer window for everything to be decided”.
The midfielder remains hopeful his compatriot will stay put, but has stressed the Barcelona attacker’s happiness is what matters most.
“I know that he didn’t like me, but if that’s because I’m Brazilian, I don’t know”.
“If the player is not happy; his agent, himself and the club that want him should have sorted this a long time ago”, the former United goalkeeper said. “These fans and this club are incredible”. It is a hard moment for him, but we wish him all the best.

Pedro had been expected to replace Neymar in Barcelona’s forward line after Enrique insisted that the speculation about his future would not influence his selection.
