The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says the couple suspected of kidnapping the children left them with a good Samaritan who notified authorities.

Humphrey, Robertson and the children are last known to have been in the Gallup area.
Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, were arrested Thursday without incident in Pueblo, about 40 miles south of Colorado Springs, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The couple had been on the run, wanted in the alleged kidnapping of Harvill’s three children.
Authorities said Kimberly Harvill’s three young children were missing after her body was discovered in a desolate area by a driver on August 14. Authorities say Roberston is not Madisyn’s biological father, but was taking care of her because her mother was incarcerated.
After an urgent search that covered several states, authorities have found three young children whose mother was found dead in Lebec 10 days ago. According to a post from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LACSD) on Facebook, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Office and fire rescue personnel determined that Harvill suffered trauma to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Early Wednesday, detectives announced they were looking for the children of murder victim Kimberly Harvill and for a man and woman believed to be their kidnappers. Harvill is Humphrey’s sister. “Upon contacting Brittany, they became aware Joshua Robertson was a couple of blocks away”. Harvill’s children were identified as Joslynn Watkins, 2; Brayden Watkins, 3; and Rylee Watkins, 5.
The children, two girls and a boy between 2 and 5, were found safe in a motel on the outskirts of Albuquerque after the couple left the children with a man staying there, Lt. Joe Mendoza said. Officials urge anyone to call 911 and do not try to approach the couple if spotted.
Investigators said Robertson and Humphrey have family connections in several states, including Nebraska, Kansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
According to police, the suspects should be considered armed and risky and should not be approached if seen in public.
Her mom told investigators she had given permission for Robertson to look after her, but later filed a “missing person at risk” report.

The process of having them extradited to California was underway, Mendoza said.
