Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists Daniel Sturridge will be a regular starter this season despite the forward being named on the bench against Tottenham on Saturday. “They scored the goal and could have won too”.

This is a glaring issue that will be fatal if it continues to happen on a game-by-game basis.

Five minutes into the match and Liverpool should have taken the lead, but Michel Vorm produced a brilliant save after Coutinho pulled the trigger from point blank range. They played together. They’ve trained from the first day of pre-season together so of course that’s an advantage. “It’s a good team so hopefully we’ll choose different lineups for different games”.

“A draw’s probably the fair result”, Rose told Sky Sports. It’s not easy when you play a team that are ideal on the counter-attack and you need to take risks.
