CONFIRMED: Tottenham sign Moussa Sissoko
If reports are to be believed, the deal for Sissoko had all but been done between Newcastle and Everton, but Spurs swooped in as night fell on deadline day to secure his signature on a five-year deal.

Sissoko looked on the verge of signing for Everton late on Wednesday but the Toffees withdrew their bid, and the France worldwide agreed a five-year deal with Tottenham.
There was some consolation for Everton as they signed West Ham’s Enner Valencia on a season-long loan deal.
Sissoko, though, insisted no such proposal was ever on the agenda as he remained in London waiting to finalise his switch to Spurs.
Tottenham are in pole position to sign Moussa Sissoko, with news that Everton have withdrawn their interest in the French worldwide. Of course I would have liked it to have happened earlier, but now it’s done.
Spurs have Champions League football to also consider this season, and so perhaps from that standpoint, it could be questioned as to whether or not they’ve brought in players who can make an immediate and significant impact both at home and overseas this year.
His final appearance for Newcastle came in a 5-1 win over Tottenham back in May, and Spurs will hope Sissoko can reprise the impressive form he displayed for France during their run to the final of Euro 2016.
Tottenham still have two hours to confirm the processing of documents before they can announce the transfer formallly, although since personal terms and a fee has been agreed, the transfer should go through.
Moussa Sissoko is unveiled as a Spurs player on deadline day.
Sissoko said: “I’m very happy, very proud to be here. There were a lot of emotions”.
“Fans will know that sometimes the team spirit was not strong last season, and that was part of the problem why we got relegated. Today I’m happy and he’s happy because we will play together in the Premier League”. “At the moment he is maybe a bit shy but that’s normal because it’s new for him”.
“Sissoko is a great player”.

“Moussa’s spirit is fantastic because he didn’t start at the beginning of the tournament but he finished the competition as a starter”.
