PCMag reached out to Google, but the Web giant declined to comment on the rumor. New reports from Android Police indicate the tech giant will announce its upcoming devices October 4 with the name “Pixel”, one called the Google Pixel and another called the Google Pixel XL. As for the phones themselves, the Sailfish, which will be unveiled as Pixel, is thought to have a 5-inch display and rounded edges, while the Marlin, or Pixel XL, will be slightly bigger with a 5.5-inch display and a larger battery. The phones will be manufactured by HTC and they will be carrying the Pixel and Pixel XL branding. That same event Google will debut a new 4K Chromecast, Google Daydream VR, and more. According to Android Police, this device will be named as ChromeCast Plus or ChromeCast Ultra. Besides, the 4 October event is not a new one, the same date was previously proposed as a suitable launch date for Nexus phones. Even with the new Pixel brand, Google may already be thinking of expanding its smartphone lineup, and may still come out with Nexus additions in the future.
