Clinton, Trump in Ohio for Labor Day

The Cleveland Airport offered a glimpse of how critical the fight for OH has become in the lead-up to the general election, as airplanes for both party nominees and their running mates passed each other on the tarmac Monday morning.

And her outreach to reporters included her most extensive question-and-answer session with them in months.

Clinton, after a few days of campaign trail rest, coughed her way through portions of her speech as she suffered one of her worst coughing bouts of the race.

Donald Trump was campaigning near Cleveland and at a Labor Day roundtable when he started off by sharing poll numbers.

“I’ve seen that”, Trump said.

Focus groups of black voters put together by a Democratic pollster found that Hillary Clinton is underperforming among black voters. “Remember, friends don’t let friends vote for Donald Trump”, Mrs. Clinton said. Trump, it turns out, was also in the swing state of OH on Labor Day with his vice-presidential candidate Mike Pence. “To return home and apply for re-entry”.

Both candidates also coincided in making overtures to the news media covering them.

Trump called it “a sign of such disrespect”.

Obama has downplayed the issue.

The New York billionaire made the comments during a Monday round table discussion with labor leaders in suburban Cleveland.

But there’s no relaxation for presidential candidates, or their running mates. “Between Tim and I we have a lot of years of public service and we believe we can make our country even greater”.

Mrs Clinton arrived in OH aboard a new blue-and-white Boeing 737 campaign plane emblazoned with her slogan, “Stronger Together”.

The cabin is divided into four sections – the first for Clinton and top aides, the second for rest of the campaign team, the third for about a dozen Secret Service agents and the fourth for the press corps.

During the question and answer, Clinton responded Federal Bureau of Investigation notes on her interview with the investigative body and denied that she knew anything about aides wiping her server with a sophisticated program known as BleachBit.

U.S. presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on Monday were in OH, one of the key states in the presidential election, on the day traditionally considered to be the start of the final stretch of the campaign culminating in the November 8 vote.

Mr Clinton told a crowd of union workers at the UAW’s Labour Day picnic in Detroit that Mr Trump’s economic policies have been tried before – cutting taxes on the rich, doubling the national debt and loosening financial industry regulations.
