‘Crushed’: Some Hispanic leaders feel misled by Trump
In the speech, the Republican presidential candidate returned to a hard line position, backing away from a softer, more compassionate approach that he had signaled in recent weeks.

The Virginia senator questioned the odds that Trump would have avoided saying anything about who would pay for the border wall while mocking the conflicting accounts over whether the wall came up during the sit-down.
Trump also doubled down on a number of proposals that he’s made over the past year.
But Paine thinks Trump will build the wall. Trump even went down to Mexico for an uncharacteristically low energy outing, in which he played nice with President Enrique Pena Nieto-who says he told Trump Mexico wouldn’t pay for his wall.
“We will break the cycle of amnesty and illegal immigration”.
He acknowledged Mexicans’ “enormous indignation” over Trump’s presence in the country and repeated that he told him in person Mexico would in no way pay for the proposed border wall, according to the Associated Press. Those who have left to seek entry under this new system will not be awarded surplus visas, but will have to enter under the immigration caps or limits that will be established.
Trump’s refusal to confront Mexico’s president with his signature idea was mocked by people on both sides of the political spectrum and was a direct contrast to the hard-nosed dealer Trump portrays in public.
“Let’s pull out all of the quotes where people who are now supporting Hillary Clinton disagreed with her in the primary as well, so we can be fair about this”, he said.
The aggressive tone in Phoenix marked a shift from earlier in the day, when a much more measured Trump described Mexicans as “amazing people” as he appeared alongside Peña Nieto in Mexico’s capital city.
He also announce to end the heavy taxes being imposed on USA citizens while announcing that there would be an end to “tax and release” and people would be happy.

Some Hispanic backers of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pulled their support after he stood by his hardline immigration stance and said anyone in the United States illegally would be subject to deportation if he were president. Trump wanted a photo op and probably told Nieto that he loves “The” Mexicans and has eaten a taco bowl to prove it.
