Maryland ‘Batman’ Killed by His Own Batmobile
At the time, Robinson was in full costume and driving his Batmobile, en route to entertain some children.

The crash was reported around 10:30 p.m. near the unincorporated community of Big Pool.
But he never wanted the story to be about him or his gadgets: “It was about coming here for the kids”, he said in 2012. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was not hurt in the crash.
Robinson died Sunday evening after his Batmobile broke down on an interstate outside of Hagerstown, Maryland.
The Dark Knight’s encounter with law enforcement began turning up in millions of Facebook news feeds.
He averaged about 18 visits a year to hospitals, schools and charity events, handing out toys and t-shirts, giving “Batman” autographs and discouraging kids from bullying, according to his website and his father, Larry Robinson.
“As the investigation continues, we’re looking very closely at the auto to see if it should have been on the roadway [in the first place]”, said Fluharty.
At Children’s Hospital, there were kids with tubes in their noses, with IVs in their arms. How many people would make that decision?
Young patients all over Maryland and Washington, DC received books, rubber bracelets with the Batman symbol and other memorabilia he autographed.
After breaking down, police said Robinson went around to the passenger side of the vehicle to check out the auto.
Robinson has three children of his own, according to The Washington Post. Of Robinson, founder Laurie Strongin told the Washington Post, “He was magic”. He was always in character, he talked to the kids like Batman.
Police say Robinson got out of his special auto to investigate some engine trouble yesterday when another vehicle struck the sports auto; it then crashed into Robinson and killed him.
