Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Team Bigger Than Even The Witcher 3’s

I don’t know about you guys, but I heard great things about this small game called “The Witcher 3” previous year. In fact, in a recent investor relation Q&A session, IR Specialist Katarzyna Szulc (via NeoGAF) mentioned that Cyberpunk 2077 has now more developers at work than The Witcher 3 during its most intensive month of development- this seems to corroborate CD Projekt RED’s previous assertions that this will be their most ambitious game yet.

CDPR is so focused on it, in fact, that more developers are working on Cyberpunk than on Witcher 3 in its most intensive months.

There are over 100 people working on the upcoming Gwent online trading card game, with the remainder of employees working hard on Cyberpunk 2077. Not one to rest on its laurels, CD Projekt has also conceded in the past that the upcoming release needs to push the envelope further for role-playing games, particularly given the barnstorming success of Wild Hunt. According to one developer they “like to surprise”, so they won’t reveal it, likely until it’s nearly done.

We’ll likely be exploring the game’s main setting of Night City, a city dominated by mega corporations and crawling with various robots, cyborgs, and more as we go into a unusual future filled with technology both wondrous and awful. CD Projekt Red’s next game is a future-paced title, a game that the developer is happy to take their time and have it done when it’s done.
