Amy Schumer, Judd Apatow crash Irish couple’s wedding celebration

“I’m in love with Dublin”, she said. The trio led the wedding party in a sing-a-long, as guests crowded around them at Grogans pub.

Trainwreck hits Irish cinema screens today.

Like nearly every Apatow film, Trainwreck is slightly overlong with a predictable plot and conventional denouement, filled with many wonderful scenes, but ends up being somewhat less than the sum of its parts.

She also gave a talk at Google headquarters in Dublin.

And all the words off at her, too.

At a special Q&A session on Thursday night, Panti Bliss advised Schumer to look up Irish comedian Sharon Horgan – which she duly did. “I don’t think anyone’s ever really ready for this amount of exposure”, she told BBC News.

Directed by comedy maestro Judd Apatow, Trainwreck follows the character Amy, a 30-something magazine journalist, who lives in fear of romance and commitment.

“I thought she was this really interesting person, she has a side that I haven’t seen presented in movies before and I asked her whether she wanted to write a movie”. It was shot sideways (grr, we know), but hey – beggars can’t be choosers. Well, it helps if you’re a celebrity, and it’s an even bigger plus if you’re willing to do some impromptu entertaining (just ask Bono).

“Don’t applaud that”, she added.

The whole thing is adorable and though I’m already married, I’d like to go back in time and have this happen at my wedding.

Both Hader and Apatow also answer the key question of who’s better at improv: John Cena or LeBron James?
