Moussa Sissoko insists he never had agreement to join Everton
There can be little doubt that the greatest transfer saga of deadline day is Moussa Sissoko ” s move to Tottenham Hotspur.

“But I never went to Everton [even though it was said I would]”.
The deal sees Spurs highjack Everton’s deal for the player, with the Blues having everything in place to finish the deal, but Mauricio Pochettino persevered to get the deal done in the last moments of the transfer window.
“I watched him at Newcastle past year, he stayed out on the wing and didn’t do anything”, said Merson, who made 425 appearances for Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal. I gave everything for the club but I wanted to play some big games. Of course I would have liked it to have happened earlier, but now it’s done.
Spurs have Champions League football to also consider this season, and so perhaps from that standpoint, it could be questioned as to whether or not they’ve brought in players who can make an immediate and significant impact both at home and overseas this year.
A deal has been in the offing for the Newcastle United midfielder all summer following his strong performances at Euro 2016 on home soil, however the north east club have maintained they would only sell for £30 million.
Sissoko was Tottenham’s third signing of transfer deadline day following the additions of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Marseille and and goalkeeper Pau Lopez from Espanyol.
“It’s been the longest month of my career”, he added.
“I have the opportunity to make another step up”.
Sissoko also posted a picture of himself holding a Spurs shirt on his Twitter account, accompanied by the caption: “Very happy to join @SpursOfficial for the next 5 years!” “When we are with the national team we speak a lot, we laugh a lot”. This is my responsibility too.
“Away from the pitch he’s a very quiet guy but he is amusing too!”

After Sissoko’s arrival at the London-based side, the player explained why he shared similar objectives with his new coach. “He is very committed, he is always ready to help the team and that’s why he’s an worldwide player”.
