Indian badminton player and Olympic silver medalist P.V Sindhu takes part in a parade after arriving home from the Rio Olympics in Hyderabad. The Sindhu said at the Gachibowli stadium, “I want to thank my coach Gopichand, it’s only because of him that I am here, I also want to thank my parents and the KCR government for their support”. She has got potential and I was waiting for her to realise that. Overall it paid off.

A huge crowd lined up the streets of Vijayawada to greet Sindhu as she alongwith her coach Pullela Gopichand embarked on another open-top-motorcade from Gannavaram Airport to Indira Gandhi Stadium.
All we can do is give in our best efforts and God willing we can win and thats how I would look at the entire story, he said.
“Many have pointed out that it is time to start planning for the next Olympics and have come up with many suggestions. We have a motivated group of gems who’ll push each other positively and hopefully we will remain in contention and win gold in 2020 Tokyo Olympics”, he added.
India won two medals and both of them were clinched by women – Sindhu and wrestler Sakshi Malik (bronze) and Gopichand said: “Thanks to the girls for saving our Olympic campaign”.
As the Telangana government sought to “own” Sindhu as the “daughter of our soil”, Naidu and his government took pains to proclaim that the champion indeed belonged to Andhra Pradesh.
Sindu was received with rousing reception as scores of fans and well wishers thronged to the airport to have a glimpse of the ace shuttler. The banner put up on the stage also described Sindhu as “Andhra Pradesh Muddi Bidda”. He also announced Rs 25 lakh for shuttler K. Srikant for his impressive performance in Rio Olympics.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will present her a Rs 3 crore cheque.

The Sindhu made a history and had become India’s first ever silver medallist in badminton.
