Ultimately the Scottish manager was unsuccessful as John Terry chose Chelsea and went on to win four Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League.

Terry was on trial at Manchester United as a schoolboy and has admitted in the past he supported the Red Devils as a child. Who would have thought I would go onto win 4 Premier Leagues and 5 FA Cups.

Naturally, it’s led to plenty of comments about what could have been from United fans who have picked up on the post, but Terry will be pleased with how things turned out in the end. I just loved it.

However, it could have been all so different had the centre-back signed for United in 1994/95. “@chelseafc. I have so much respect for Sir Alex Ferguson and will never forget what he done for me and my family”, Terry posted.

Terry, a holding midfielder at the time, trained with United before pledging allegiance to the Blues.

“But Man United also approached me”. He made me feel so special, autographs, my photo done with the Premiership trophy.
