Batman: Return to Arkham is being handled by Chinese studio Virtuous, with creative oversight from Rocksteady the founding father of the Arkham series.

The delay from the originally intended July 26th release was thought to be due to the criticisms over the HD revamp of those classic Arkham games, which was thought not to be that much better graphically (if not worse) than the original versions on PS3 and Xbox 360 because of porting problems.
Fans of Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham trilogy have been anticipating the release of an HD remaster of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City to the bring the full trilogy to current generation consoles, which is where the trilogy’s third installment, Batman: Arkham Knight, was released. When the first trailer came out for Return to Arkham, fans were quick to compare the visuals and found an unsettling amount of downgrades.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that Batman: Return to Arkham will be available beginning October 18, 2016 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One.
