The Cowboys have found their Back-up Quarterback

Sometimes, they do. More often, the questions remain when the real stuff kicks off. But the veteran lost the job to relative unknown Trevor Siemian. Mark Sanchez is 37-35 in his 72 career starts, including 0-2 last season with the Eagles. The Cardinals won 38-17.

The Denver Broncos front office has stated that before the weekend they will announce its final list that will make the cut for the upcoming season. Davis who was previously released by the Cleveland Browns, will add more depth to the Broncos offense, according to the National Football League official website.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian will throw his first pass as a pro Thursday night when the Super Bowl champs kick off the 2016 season against the Carolina Panthers. Such is life when you sign the former USC quarterback of butt-fumble fame.

As The Denver Post’s Nicki Jhabvala reported, cutting Sanchez saves the team $3.5 million in cap space and the 2017 conditional seventh-round pick they sent to Philadelphia to acquire Sanchez. “… It was a tough situation to walk into”. To that end, all of the Broncos’ eight-player draft class made the cut to 53, as did undrafted rookie defensive lineman Kyle Peko.

“I’m excited about it”, Elway said of Lynch. Whether that means the trade or sign another one, we’ll see.

“He should be proud”, Elway said.

9NEWS Broncos Insider Mike Klis was told there’s no truth to reports that the Broncos are shopping cornerback Aqib Talib.

The only players returning to their same spots on offense are center Matt Paradis, running back C.J. Anderson and receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas.

The #Broncos signed QB Austin Davis, who turned down a deal with Dallas because he wanted guaranteed money, to a 1-year deal.

-He went with rookie punter Riley Dixon over veteran Britton Colquitt because “we like Riley’s upside”.

Based on what we saw in this situation previous year it nearly feels that making a prediction one way or another is a lost cause. He was spotty while playing the entire preseason finale against Houston, hurting his chances of getting claimed by another team. Anytime you bring a guy in this late it’s going to take some time to get him turned around. “But we’re willing to risk that with Riley”.

Coach Gary Kubiak called Dixon “a young kid” who’s “done a lot of good things” and has a bright future, but added, “we’ve got to be better”.
