Per agent John Perla Jr., the New Orleans Saints are adding kicker Wil Lutz to the 53-man roster. Lutz, a product of Newnan, Ga., made 31-of-46 kicks in college, including 12-of-19 as a senior, and made two of his three field goal attempts with the Baltimore Ravens. His only miss came against the New England Patriots in their preseason opener. He was 23-of-27 from inside the 40-yard line and finished as Georgia State’s all-time leader in field goals, PATs (120), points (213) and games played (47). In 10 games last season with the Saints, Forbath made 10-of-15 field goal attempts with a long of 57 yards.
The Saints rounded out the roster tweaking by terminating linebacker Tony Steward’s contract, according to Tuesday’s NFL Transactions report.
Cornerback Sterling Moore has signed a one-year deal with the Saints.
He is the 11th kicker for the Saints since the 2006 season. Hopkins, meanwhile, went on to thrive with the Washington Redskins.
