Stars mull fourth Bridget Jones film at London premiere

Especially since I love this character and didn’t want to disappoint anybody.

“I wanted to learn something new and grow as a person and see if I had aptitude for these things that interest me”.

Zellweger wanted to gain the ideal weight for Bridget, but the movie’s producer Shannon Maguire said that the film is projecting a stage of Bridget’s life where she’s lost a bit of weight, so it wasn’t necessary for Zellweger to undergo the same body transformation that she did in the previous two movies.

Renee Zellweger’s Bridget Jones Baby also stars Patrick Dempsey and Colin Firth.

Renee Zellweger packed on the PDA with her boyfriend Doyle Bramhall II on the red carpet at the world premiere of Bridget Jones’s Baby in London. He summarizes that despite there being little in the way of the comical moments we missed from its predecessor The Edge of Reason, Zellweger is back on form.

Calling all Bridget Jones devotees!

“Depending on which side of the age divide viewers fall, Bridget Jones’s Baby will either be viewed as charmingly retro or irredeemably irrelevant”, writes Screen Daily’s Fionnuala Halligan.

Sadly, Hugh Grant’s über-cad Daniel Cleaver is no longer with us, but Colin Firth’s uptight Darcy is still a droll turn – he seems to be channelling his royal hauteur as George VI even more than ever, still super handsome and distinguished, but his head and neck slightly etiolated, like a very posh tortoise. Fortunately, her latest escapade has gone down well with critics.

He added that the film is “on the whole, a worthy completion of the trilogy”.

Renee Zellweger has a “new perspective” after taking a six-year acting hiatus.

Zellweger, who was dressed in a black, asymmetric gown, signed hundreds of autographs for fans who had waited hours outside the Odeon Leicester Square to see her and afterwards joked: “My arms were too skinny before I started, I built them up”.

“But I think…there’s an enduring love for this character”.

According to The Guardian, Bridget Jones’s Baby is “a better Bridget than the last movie” – 2004’s Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Bridget Jones is talking about the eco-friendly biodegradable condoms she bought ages ago, and with which she has suddenly ended an aeon-long sex starvation by using twice, on getting suddenly lucky with two chaps within a few days: dishy online dating expert (Patrick Dempsey) and her old smoulderer, the unexpectedly single Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).

But after an encounter with him as well as meeting American Jack Qwant, played by Dempsey, Jones becomes pregnant and is uncertain who the baby’s father is.

Emma Thompson and pop star Ed Sheeran also appear in the film, which is out in the United Kingdom on 16 September.
