“I felt so cool, I felt so excited”.

In more recent decades, Mexico has not only begun to try to acknowledge the large Mexican presence in the USA but its government – including a short ill-fated opposition interregnum by the Catholic-oriented and northern states based National Action Paty [PAN] has tried to exploit it.

Donald Trump has made his promise that Mexico would pay to build a wall along the USA border a centerpiece of his proposed immigration policy.

“We agreed in the meeting on the need to stop the illegal flow of guns, drugs, cash and people across the border and to take out the cartels – have to get rid of those cartels and we have to do it quickly”, Trump continued.

Seventy-eight percent said they believed Trump could not deliver on this promise, while 13 percent said he could.

Up to 11 million illegal immigrants living in the United States could face immediate deportation if Donald Trump wins the November election for the White House.

Monty wasn’t the only member of the advisory council to bolt.

“The stakes this fall are as high as any election in our lifetimes”, she said in her first public remarks in several days. That is critical because only 80 to 85 percent of Republicans now support their party’s nominee, he added.

Nieto, speaking on TV shortly after, went on the offensive still further, saying Trump posed a threat to his country: “His policy stances could represent a huge threat to Mexico, and I am not prepared to keep my arms crossed and do nothing”, he said.

Trump also doubled down on a number of proposals that he’s made over the a year ago.

Alfonso Aguilar, the president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles and a former George W. Bush administration official who had backed Jeb Bush in the primaries, pulled his support from Trump on Thursday.

“Well, they disagree on that conversation”, Conway said.

But after Wednesday night’s speech, Aguilar said: “I have no other option but to withdraw my support”.

Meanwhile, Politico obtained a copy of an email from Texas pastor Ramiro Pena, who is also on the board.

“Without a doubt, my perception is that it is going to make it even worse, even stronger the drop in approval”, he said, referring to Pena Nieto’s near 20-per cent approval rating, according to recent polls.

Border security experts say the president has the authority to order the wall to be completed, but it likely will cost billions of dollars.

“The “National Hispanic Advisory Council” seems to be simply for optics and I do not have the time or energy for a scam”, he wrote.

In the last few months, the Trump campaign has ratcheted up its fundraising efforts with emphasis on small and online donations – a far cry from virtually no fundraising for almost an entire year.
