Dead After Crash On Taconic Parkway In Yorktown

Four cars were involved in the crash in Yorktown at about 3 p.m. on Saturday.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a BMW SUV was driving northbound when it drove into the center median, hitting an embankment. Five others was said to be in stable condition at that hospital and two others were treated and released from Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

Police are investigating a crash that killed three people on the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester County. The southbound lanes remained closed until approximately 8:40 p.m.

The BMW struck two southbound vehicles and a third southbound vehicle was also involved in the collision, according to police.

News 12 sources on the scene say one of the deceased is a child.

Police did not identify the victims, pending notification of next of kin. The victim, who has not yet been named, was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle, officials said.

The one-car accident happened near the exit for Route 55 in LaGrangeville, near Noxon Road.

“You could see the mangled bodies in the auto”, the witness said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
