The iPhone 7 headphones savior won’t be Bluetooth

Yes, it’s possible Apple might be launching not two, but three, new iPhone models tomorrow at its special event from California and the extra model has specs to back it up – as well as a potential spoiler of what it will look like, with a photo taken of it alongside it’s siblings.

Judging by the volume of online chatter, there’s a lot less buzz in China ahead of this week’s expected launch of the new Apple Inc iPhone, and people on the street say they’re more likely to “wait and see” what the latest device offers than rush out to buy.

The new smartphone will come without a headphone jack, with the company providing both Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapter in the box, according to Kuo. Apple’s iPhone 6s is now the world’s most popular smartphone. Reports suggest that the iPhone 7 will be similar to the iPhone 6s, but will be thinner than the predecessor.

It’s not clear if the chip in the iPhone 7 to support the wireless earbuds will actually have Bluetooth specifications.

While Apple could announce the “AirPods” tomorrow, a lack of any leaked product images could indicate the product isn’t ready for prime time. Expect the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to carry those same dimensions. Other credible rumors suggest that the iPhone 7 may finally get a proper waterproofing rating, which would be a first for the device. Apple has not disclosed details about the iPhone 8, which is expected to be launched next year to celebrate the iPhone 10’s anniversary.

Neil Mawston, executive director at Strategy Analytics, said Apple shipped 14.2 million units of iPhone 6s models and accounted for 4 percent share of all smartphones shipped in Q2 2016. Other reports indicate Apple could use the opportunity to unveil a new MacBook Pro, possibly with a Touch ID sensor. Forbes reported last Friday that a Chinese website had a price of 5,288 RMB (about $792) for a 32GB iPhone 7.
