Trump’s recent trip to Mexico was mired in controversy even before he touched down south of the border.

US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said on Monday she will not accept an invitation from Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto for a visit after rival Donald Trump created what she called a “diplomatic incident” in his foray there. Tim Kaine, called the trip an “international embarrassment”.

Hillary Clinton gave her first presidential candidate televised national interview with CNN’s Brianna Keilar on Tuesday, July 7, 2015.

“He came out saying one thing and the Mexican president contradicted him nearly immediately”, the former secretary of State said, according to Reuters.

“Can I tell you something that really made me mad today?” “She chokes. Look at the deals she’s made”, he said of Clinton. My stance is we’re going to build a wall, and Mexico’s going to pay for the wall. “And he didn’t raise it – so he did choke”.

A few hours later, the GOP nominee insisted during his immigration speech in Arizona, saying that Mexico would “100 percent” pay for the wall, though “they don’t know it yet”.

The Republican nominee met with Nieto last week and said during a joint press conference that the two did not discuss Mexico paying for the wall, but the Mexican president later disputed that account and said he told Trump during their private meeting that Mexico wouldn’t pay for it. He didn’t know how to even communicate effectively with a head of state.

WASHINGTON ― Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, says Trump’s position on building a wall between the United States and Mexico is firm ― despite evidence to the contrary. When you see that he can’t even go to a foreign country without getting into a public feud with the president, I think the answer is clear.
