The fire started August 13 near Lake Nacimiento and burned 46,344 acres.
The Chimney Fire destroyed 49 residences and 21 other structures, and damaged eight others. No structures are now threatened by the fire, and all evacuation orders have been lifted.
After other resources leave the scene, local CalFire crews will work to fix damage to roads and prevent runoff into streams, the San Luis Obispo Tribune reported. Firefighters are aggressively mopping up on the perimeter of the fire.

The cause of the Chimney fire remains under investigation, although officials have determined last week that the cause was unintentional. Suppression work is expected to continue for several weeks.
