A company official said the delay was caused by additional quality evaluation tests.

This report is just one among the many being posted by users on social media, with pictures to prove that their Galaxy Note 7 exploded while charging.

Samsung Electronics Co. could announce on Friday a recall program for the batteries of its newly-launched flagship premium smartphone Galaxy Note 7 that has raised safety concerns after reports of explosion while charging. The official also mentioned that it’s unlikely that Samsung would recall the smartphones on Friday, since the company is now in talks with Verizon and other business partners on the issue.

According to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, an unnamed Samsung official says the company is conducting an investigation and is expected to announce the results this weekend or early next week.

The first report of a Galaxy Note 7 randomly exploding appeared online on August 24 when images were published of the damaged device that blew up in China while connected to a microUSB to USB Type-C converter.

As we already said before, Samsung better fix the problem and deliver the goods as delays will greatly affect sales especially in this second half of the year.

The Chosun Ilbo quotes a staffer at a battery maker: “The rapid recharging function of the Galaxy Note 7 generates more heat than conventional recharging and puts a lot of strain on the battery”. Samsung’s stock lost 2 percent in Seoul on Thursday. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article.
