US Will Help Bring Turkey Coup Plotters to Justice: Obama

The discussion between Britain and Russia touched on issues including terrorism, Syria, security and drug trafficking, Russian economy minister Alexei Ulyukayev said following the meeting.

“Typically the tone of our meetings is candid, blunt, businesslike”.

Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia, as the world’s top oil producers, are in talks on cooperation to support the market, Putin said.

“We can say that our mutual work with the United States in fighting terrorist organisations, including in Syria, will be significantly improved and intensified”.

“But given the gaps of trust that exist, that is a tough negotiation and we haven’t yet closed the gaps in a way where we think it would actually work”.

On Sunday, Erdogan said that “post-coup evidence” indicating Gulen orchestrated the plot from afar is being amassed and will be submitted to USA authorities.

It follows equally unsuccessful talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

More than 250,000 people have been killed since the conflict erupted in 2011, when government forces launched a violent crackdown against pro-democracy protesters calling for President Bashar al-Assad to step down.

Obama said Sunday the United States would never apologize for its insistence upon press access, but said he understood why Chinese officials may have chafed at the Americans’ demands. Security firms named Russian Federation as the suspect in a hack of US political party groups including the Democratic National Committee.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proposed to the USA and Russian Federation, the setting up of a no-fly zone in northern Syria.

Erdogan believes the effort to topple the Turkish government was orchestrated by an exiled cleric who lives in the U.S.

Obama met with Putin for 90 minutes in an unscheduled meeting that was described by both sides as longer than usual for the sidelines of a G20 summit. Though a recent report, from a highly credible security researcher who was part of the government’s efforts in this field, has suggested the U.S. government has fewer zero-day exploits stockpiled than anyone believes.

Obama’s relations with Putin are strained not only because of the Syrian situation but Moscow’s moves in Ukraine and the possibility the Russian leader is trying to help Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump get elected.

Any deal would depend on Moscow using its influence to persuade the Syrian leader to ground planes and stop the assault on opposition forces, the Associated Press said.

But the US has always been wary on the military coordination part of the deal, because it says Russian Federation has mainly targeted moderate, USA -backed opposition groups in a bid to prop up Assad.

According to an outcomes list from the foreign ministry after the Saturday meeting between Xi and Obama, both countries said excess capacity in steel and other industries is a global issue which requires a collective response.
