Australian comedian cheekily recreates celebrity Instagrams

With all the green smoothies, insane workouts and downright freakish photo shoots bombarded at us on social media, sometimes you can lose sight of what “real” life looks like.

Re-creating celebrity Instagram photos and paparazzi shots isn’t an entirely new idea, but Australian comedian Celeste Barber wins points for having the most enthusiastic low-budget production. Barber unabashedly mocks the “unposed” snapshots of Miranda Kerr eating junk food, and Gisele Bündchen flipping her hair.

“Really I am turning the mirror back on the celebrities, as I am very pro-woman and I get frustrated when people say you should be or act a certain way”, Barber continued.

“People are so obsessed with celebrities and celebrities seem to be so obsessed with portraying everyday people”, Barber told the ABC.

In one post she put together a collage of selfies including herself, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus where she questioned why the other females follower count soared while she couldn’t even make it into the thousands.
