Freshman wide receiver Kumoku Noa’s older brother Kanawai is a sophomore wide receiver at Cal. Kumoku was a first-team all-state receiver at Kamehameha in 2015, while Kanawai was a two-time all-state receiver for Punahou before appearing in all 13 games for Cal in 2015 as a true freshman at receiver and on special teams. The spokesman said all three players would have seen considerable action during the game, which marks the coaching debut of former Hawaii quarterback Nick Rolovich.

Rainbow Warriors quarterback Ikaika Woolsey was 17 of 34 for 234 yards passing with one TD and one interception.

“He came out to practice (Tuesday), watched practice, actually suited out and took a couple reps as the scout-team running back”, Cal coach Sonny Dykes told ESPN. “They made a lot of adjustments as the game went on and challenged us”.
