Most indoor cats live anywhere between 13 and 17 years old. Then, he lost his title to another feline named Tiffany Two. Guinness Book of World Records confirmed his age and has since put him in the book as the world’s oldest living cat again for the second time.

Corduroy, a feline living in Oregon, US, together with owner Ashley Reed Okura, celebrated his 26th birthday a couple of weeks ago, on August 1.
Okura said the secret to his longevity is “allowing him to be a cat: hunting and getting plenty of love!”
Guinness World Records named Corduroy, a 26-year-old cat from Sisters, Oregon, as the world’s new oldest living cat on Thursday, August 12, 2015.
Corduroy was briefly the world record holder in 2014 before she was dethroned by Tiffany Two, who lived to be 27 years, 2 months and 20 days. It’s truly awesome to have picked Corduroy out from a litter when I was nearly seven years old and still have him in my life today.
For his birthday August. 1, Okura bought him a live white mouse from Petco and says he enjoyed it “right away”. The cat had reportedly taken the record from Corduroy last October when she was discovered by Guinness World Records. Another cat was much older than both of these two at the age of 38 years old.
The difference between Corduroy and these other cats is that Corduroy is still alive and doing well. Let’s hope Corduroy holds the title for as long as he can.

To be granted the record, an owner has to submit documentation to prove a cat’s age, such as recordings throughout the years and witness statements, the wire service reported.
