The actress left the show after the sixth season, but on Sunday night she had what does amount in some ways to a victory lap by appearing at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles, where both she and the show were honored.

Ever since her departure from the CW program, the TV-star has allegedly been trying to make it happen for herself, having shown interest in several upcoming movies, but nobody has made the move to hire her. Fans felt that the actress may have given up with acting as numerous of photos have emerged in recent months showing Dobrev doing nothing but partying with her friends on yachts.

In her acceptance speech, Nina went on to thank fans for their support during her six years on the show, bidding an emotional farewell to her role as Elena. Because it meant new beginnings, new beginnings where the future is unknown.

“As this chapter of my life comes to an end, I look back on it with a grateful heart and I smile”, Nina said. With that heartfelt undertaking, the report added the Dobrev finally met some closure with her previous relationship which was met by a mixture of wonder and uncertainty by some fans. Over the last six years, we’ve become women. We’re not sure you will see her before then. “I wouldn’t be here without you”, stated Dobrev. Yet, that did not stop Julie Plec from taking Dobrev out of the series, which practically ended Dobrev’s run in the “Vampire Diaries“. They changed my life with this role. It also led to a romance with costar Ian Somerhalder, whom she dated for more than three years. So remember, change is coming, so hold and enjoy the ride, all right? “It’s gonna be fun”.
