Australian man burned by exploding Samsung phone
After suspending sales of its Galaxy Note 7 flagship smartphone Samsung has revealed details of the United Kingdom and Ireland Product Exchange Programme for Note 7 owners.

It’s been going around the internet that Samsung’s well-received Galaxy Note 7 is suffering from a major battery issue, as there have been reported cases of devices exploding or catching fire. United Kingdom customers who have Galaxy Note7 devices will be contacted by the provider or operator from which they purchased the product in order to arrange their device exchange.
Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. “We will have a new Galaxy Note7 on the way to you as soon as possible”.
More than 35 cases of the exploding battery defect have been reported since the phone, which retails for $1,035, was launched on August 19. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.
Owners of the phone in Canada can exchange a recalled device for a new one of the same model.
The smartphone maker says that United Kingdom providers and operators will now begin contacting buyers to arrange their exchange. “Samsung Electronics Australia advises all customers who use a Galaxy Note 7 smartphone to power down their device, return it to its place of purchase and use an alternative device until a remedy can be provided”, Samsung said on Monday.
United Kingdom customers who have Galaxy Note7 devices will be contacted by the provider or operator from which they purchased the product in order to arrange their device exchange.

This is just the latest in a string of unfortunate events for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 release.
