UW lands at No. 8 in AP Top 25 rankings
Houston jumped up to No. 7, Texas made its first appearance in the Coaches Poll since September 2014 at No. 20 after beating Notre Dame, and Texas A&M checked in at No. 24 after beating UCLA in overtime.

Teams like Texas and Wisconsin broke out with huge wins against top programs Notre Dame and LSU, both of which were considered College Football Playoff contenders, while Houston’s already high stock is skyrocketing after its win over Big 12 favorite Oklahoma.
For Texas, Tuesday’s polls mark the first time the “Horns have cracked the Top 25 since 2013’s regular season finale loss to No. 9 Baylor, in which Texas was ranked No. 25”. Florida State moved up to No. 3.
And… SMU knocked off North Texas 34-21; Texas State outlasted Ohio University 56-54; Texas San Antonio beat Alabama State 26-13; and finally, UTEP knocked out the New Mexico State Aggies 38-22 last Saturday.
Also in the rankings are Oklahoma State (22), OR (24) and Miami (25).
