Donovan Maez was arrested Friday on several charges, including an open count of murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy. Police said in the complaint that the motivation for the shooting may have been a fight that occurred at the home previously.

Detectives said that Cruz, who maintained a Facebook profile under the name “Chriis” Marley, posted a picture on his page 29 minutes before the shooting that showed 10 rounds of ammunition on someone’s lap.

He’s the son of Democratic Rep. Stephanie Maez of Albuquerque.

“He’s barely breathing. How many times do I have to fucking tell you?” the caller said.

Police said in a criminal complaintthat Maez was identified by tips as being the gunman. “They all decided to act like savages that night, get in the auto, and shoot up a house that they knew there were people in, indiscriminately shooting into that residence”.

This year alone Maez has also been arrested in two burglary cases and for possession of counterfeit controlled substance with intent to distribute.
