Carlson has voluntarily dismissed her federal lawsuit in New Jersey against Ailes, a court filing shows.
The company also settled with two other women who were part of a Fox-initiated investigation by the law firm Paul, Weiss, Wharton & Garrison, Reuters reported. Her contract was not renewed in June after 11 years at Fox News Channel.
In a stunning and as yet unexplained turn of events, Fox News host Greta Van Susteren is leaving the channel. “All women deserve a dignified and respectful workplace in which talent, hard work and loyalty are recognized, revered and rewarded.” .
Also Tuesday, Fox News announced the surprise departure of Greta Van Susteren from a nighttime lineup that has been one of the most successful and stable in cable news.
But the end of Carlson’s lawsuit doesn’t mean the end of problem for Fox News. During her tenure at Fox News, Gretchen exhibited the highest standards of journalism and professionalism.
Mr Ailes (76) “sabotaged her career because she refused his advances and complained about severe and pervasive sexual harassment”, claimed Ms Carlson (50) a former Miss America.
Carlson filed the suit in New Jersey against Roger Ailes, saying she was sacked for rejecting his sexual advances. The network apparently wants to change its culture, as Rupert Murdoch wants to move past the Ailes episode, do we may not see a massive staff exodus just yet. Van Susteren reportedly tried to renegotiate her contract after Ailes resigned, and opted to leave when the negotiations failed. “This is a retaliatory suit for the network’s decision not to renew her contract, which was due to the fact that her disappointingly low ratings were dragging down the afternoon lineup”. Carlson, 50, will reportedly receive $20 million from the network, sources told the Washington Post and the New York Times.

She said he responded: “I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you’d be good and better and I’d be good and better”. Ailes was also indemnified by the company for any damages from the lawsuit.
