Ricky Town, elite USC Trojans freshman QB, plans to transfer
Signing day 2015 was more than six months ago, but Florida has been linked to the sixth-best pro-style quarterback in the class. (I can’t imagine the revolt staged by players within a program that would abandon its current plan at quarterback to chase a pipe dream with Town playing in the 2015 season – and given that Town has committed to Alabama and enrolled at USC, he’s pretty clearly not looking for the sort of low-profile school that might roll the dice just that way.).

In March, Sarkisian said Town was experiencing his fair share of freshman struggles during camp.
UPDATED 9:09 p.m. ET: Following practice Sunday, head coach Steve Sarkisian confirmed that Town has decided to transfer out of the USC football program.
The decision by Ricky Town to transfer from USC shouldn’t come as a complete surprise.
During a practice last week, Town threw back-to-back interceptions to a walk-on cornerback in a scrimmage session. We don’t know for sure where he will end up, but, as one of the top quarterback recruits from last year, Town will certainly have plenty of suitors vying for his services. Alabama then took Blake Barnett from Corona Santiago High, so the Crimson Tide may not want another freshman quarterback. Barring any major injury, the program will still have senior quarterback and Heisman candidate Cody Kessler. Redshirt freshman Jalen Greene moved to receiver. Needless to say, the only real estate needs he will be worrying about is where to invest the money he has made in his long career. Town, wherever he winds up, will have to sit out a season due to the NCAA’s transfer rules.
Aside from Fink, the Trojans are still interested in five-star 2017 quarterback Tate Martell.
“I don’t know that to be true”, Sarkisian said.

The timing of Town’s transfer allows him to transfer to another school before the fall semester begins. Max Wittek waited three seasons before he left after Kessler became USC’s starter.
